James Miller on APH LongasoxAfter finishing school James studied applied horse science at University of Queensland Gatton. James then made the journey to Germany where he spent 5 years training under the guidance of Peter Weston, International Dressage competitor.

During his time with Peter and Kim Weston, James learnt the skill and detail required to operate a professional competition stable and assisted in the daily training of horses up to International Grand Prix level as well as competing horses up to M level.

On his return to Australia in 2002 James was fortunate to become the manager of Goron Toron Stud established in 1990 and owned by the late Mr Goto. James spent 7 years at Goron Toron, where he had success with the young breeding stallion APH Ludo, winning QLD young horse qualifiers and a second place at the Australian Young Horse Championships.

During his time at Goron Toron James’s focus moved more towards the breeding side of the industry and preparation of youngsters for which James has developed an outstanding reputation.

James and his partner Georgia purchased GT Jake a select group of mares when Goron Toron was sold. They now operate a boutique dressage stable of their own with their focus now being to produce top horses for the sport of dressage.
